Throughout his career, he played with several influential bands, including Zita Swoon and Het Zesde Metaal, and released a number of solo albums that showcased his distinctive blend of emotion and craftsmanship. Beyond performing, he worked as a producer, composer for film and theatre, and mentor to young artists like Tamino. His music blended classical training with experimental rock and intuitive, emotionally resonant pop written mainly in Dutch.
