Cuby + Blizzards were a pioneering Dutch blues rock band founded in 1964 by singer Harry Muskee and guitarist Eelco Gelling. Hailing from the village of Grolloo, they stood out with a raw, genre-blending sound unlike any other Dutch act of the era. Their debut single “Stumble and Fall” came in 1965, followed by hits like “Back Home” and the classic “Window of My Eyes.”
They toured with Van Morrison, recorded with Eddie Boyd, and played alongside blues legends like John Mayall and Alexis Korner. Despite frequent lineup changes, Muskee and Gelling remained its core until 1976. Later members included Herman Brood and Erwin Java. The band earned an Edison Award for Desolation and left a lasting mark on Dutch music history. C+B ended with Muskee’s death in 2011.
