The Scene was a rock band from Amsterdam, active from 1979 to 2014, led by singer, guitarist, and songwriter Thé Lau. Known for their poetic lyrics and Lau’s distinctive raw, husky voice, the band maintained a characteristic sound despite frequent lineup changes. The Scene gained early recognition through radio and TV performances, releasing critically acclaimed work including their self-titled debut in 1980 and landmark albums like Blauw. They became an important voice in Dutch rock, with hits like “Iedereen Is Van De Wereld.”
